RITUELS

Rituels is a maxi-Haiku organized as part of the 9th edition of the Festival Jazz sur le Grill. Three choirs (100 participants), together with the La Forge quartet and guest Naïssam Jalal, have come together for this creation.
Following the success of “Pharaonique Moondog”, a large-scale project bringing together regional amateur musicians (6 harmonies, 250 participants) and professional musicians in March 2022 on the Champ-de-Mars in Valence during the 7th edition of the Drôme festival “Jazz sur le grill”, this year we have imagined a creation that will give pride of place to vocal art.
As the 2023 edition is dedicated to music imbued with rituals, trance, roots and spirituality, with the “Healing Rituals” show by flutist Naïssam Jalal as its flagship project, it seemed natural to imagine a creative project with vocal ensembles from the region.
