Rituels

“RITUELS” brings together on stage a top-quality vocal ensemble, the quartet of musicians from La Forge, and a special guest, flutist Naïssam Jalal. Conceived and produced for “Jazz sur le grill” with amateur choirs, we sensed the potential of the subject.
We’d like to continue our work and expand on this unique repertoire for vocal ensembles. That’s why, on a national level, we submit our project to the best professional or semi-professional choirs in a given town or region, proposing the revival and continuation of “RITUELS” adapted to the ensemble, augmented by new writing.

Concert bands gather for a celebration of Moondog’s music
Directly inherited from the French Revolution, harmony orchestras or “musical societies” have been part of our country’s associative fabric since the early 19th century.
Open to high-quality amateur practice, these ensembles are not only places for musical learning, but also for sharing and discovery. Intergenerational exchanges and the associative spirit they foster are values that reinforce the interest and per- tinence of these ensembles.
Micromégas
In the field of amateur musical practice, the musicians’ collective La Forge presents the Micromégas school orchestra.
Founded in 1997 by François Raulin, Micromégas is dedicated to a virtually professional approach to all stages of the creative process, closely combining training, repertoire creation, improvisation, and dissemination in a variety of rewarding settings and public events (festivals, cultural seasons, concert halls, artistic encounters, etc.).
With nearly 22 years’ experience behind it, Micromégas has far exceeded its objectives, both in terms of the orchestra’s level of performance and the dozens of original pieces that have been included in its repertoire, pieces specially written for the ensemble, flirting with festive, inventive and colorful jazz.

In 2024, La Forge will be partnering the Drôme festival Jazz sur le Grill for its tenth edition.
For the past three years, we’ve been staging creations and developing large-scale cultural initiatives here, so it was only natural to formalize our link as an associate collective.
After Pharaonique Moondog in 2022, which brought together 6 wind bands (250 musicians) for a celebration of the music of the composer Moondog, and Rituels in 2023, which gave pride of place to the voice with a creation for 3 amateur choirs and the La Forge quartet, this year we are proposing a project based on the music of Duke Ellington, and more specifically his album inspired by Shakespeare‘s “Such Sweet Thunder“.
